The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
