The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
