And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
