And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 And they will not be able to make a disposition, nor to their family they return. 50
