Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
