The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
