The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 And who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, [O Prophet,] as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time: for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and ears; their sight is dimmed and for them is a great punishment. 7
