AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
