It is He who sends down water from the sky of which you drink, and which nourishes the plants you feed your cattle, 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal. 19 And those upon whom they call beside Allah have not created aught, and are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, lifeless, and they know not when they will be raised up. 21
