The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These are the real gainers, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
