In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
