Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most; 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 And those who have responded to their lord and established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 The recompense for evil will be equivalent to the deed. He who pardons (the evil done to him) and reforms himself, will receive his reward from God. God certainly does not love the unjust. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
