Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha; Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 2 Most surely in the heavens and the earth there are signs for the believers. 3 And in your own nature, and in [that of] all the animals which He scatters [over the earth] there are messages for people who are endowed with inner certainty. 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 Such are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you in truth. So in what speech, after Allah and His signs, will they believe? 6 Woe unto every sinful self-deceiver 7 He hears God's revelations being recited to him, yet persists in his arrogance as if he had never heard them. Forewarn him of a painful punishment. 8 As for he who knows something of Our verses and then mocks them for those there is a humiliating punishment. 9 Beyond them there is hell, and that which they have earned will naught avail them, nor those whom they have chosen for protecting friends beside Allah. Theirs will be an awful doom. 10 This is guidance; and those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, there awaits them a painful chastisement of wrath. 11
