The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
