He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And hath fear, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 These verses are a reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what has God created him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And produce therein corn, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
