The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
