The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
