So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests do not dishonour me.” 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
