Hizb 53

Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
