Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 and said, 'What, shall we follow a mortal, one out of ourselves? Then indeed we should be in error and insanity! 24 "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)." 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 We made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would take heed? 32 Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings, 33 and behold, We let loose upon them a tempest which rained stones upon them, except upon Lot's household whom We rescued in the last hours of the night 34 As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
