The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
