The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 DO MEN THINK that on their [mere] saying, "We have attained to faith", they will be left to themselves, and will not be put to a test? 2 We indeed tested those before them – so Allah will surely test the truthful, and will surely test the liars. 3 Or bethink those who work ill deeds that they shall outstrip Us? Ill do they judge! 4 He who hopes to meet Allah (must know) that the term of Allah is coming. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 Whosoever struggles, struggles only to his own gain; surely God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. 6 And whosoever believe and work righteous works, We shall purge away from them their ill-deeds and shall recompense them the best of that which they have been working. 7 And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents, but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do. 8 And those who believe, and do righteous deeds assuredly We shall admit them among the righteous. 9 Some profess to believe in God, but when they suffer for God's cause they mistake the persecution of man for the punishment of God. But when help comes to you from God, they will say, "We have always been with you." Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 [Yea - ] and most certainly will God mark out those who have [truly] attained to faith, and most certainly will He mark out the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars. 12 They will certainly carry their own burdens and other burdens besides their own. They will assuredly be called to account on the Day of Resurrection concerning the fabrications which they contrived. 13
