The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
