۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
