The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sun and its rising brightness 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 And by the night as it conceals it (the sun); 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). 10 Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression (by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism, and by following polytheism, and by committing every kind of sin). 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
