The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ A. L. M. 1 The Romans have been defeated 2 In a near land, and they, after being vanquished, shall overcome, 3 In a few years (less than ten). God's is the imperative first and last. On that day the believers will rejoice 4 in the victory of Allah. Allah gives victory to whosoever He will, and He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 It is a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise, but most of mankind know not. 6 They know an outward part of this life, but of the Everlasting Life they are inattentive. 7 Do they not think for themselves that God did not create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them without reason and a determined purpose? But many men reject the meeting with their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land and seen what end their predecessors met? They were mightier than them: they cultivated the earth more and built more upon it than these have ever built. Their own messengers also came to them with clear signs: God did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. 9 Then the end of those that did evil was evil, for that they cried lies to the signs of God and mocked at them. 10
