Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
