You shall not attain righteousness until you spend out of what you love (in the way of Allah). Allah knows whatever you spend. 92 ۞ All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel forbade himself before the Torah had been sent down. Say: 'Bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful' 93 Then whosoever fabricateth, after this, a lie against Allah - these! they are the wrong-doers. 94 (Muhammad), say, "God has spoken the Truth. Follow the upright tradition of Abraham who was not an idolater." 95 The first House to be built for mankind was the one at Bakkah [Makkah]. It is a blessed place; a source of guidance for the whole world. 96 There are clear signs in it; it is the place where Abraham stood. Anyone who enters it will be secure. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty to God for anyone who is able to undertake it. Anyone who disbelieves should remember that God is independent of all creatures. 97 Say thou: O People of the Book! wherefore disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, whereas Allah is witness of that which ye work! 98 Say: 'People of the Book, why do you bar he who believes from the Path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, when you yourselves are witnesses? Allah is not inattentive of what you do' 99 O ye who believe! If ye listen to a faction among the People of the Book, they would (indeed) render you apostates after ye have believed! 100 And how can you disbelieve? To you are being recited the messages of God, and His prophet is among you. And whosoever holds fast to God shall verily be guided to the path that is straight. 101
