The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
