Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
