The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
