The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
