Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
