Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
