Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those that produce fire striking, 2 by the dawn-raiders 3 Raising clouds of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And most surely he is a witness of that. 7 Surely he is passionate in his love for good things. 8 ۞ Does he not know that when that which is in the graves is overthrown, 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
