SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 from which you turn away. 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended: 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay". 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down before him in prostration!" 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 except Iblis. He waxed proud and became one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He, 'Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?' 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 And verily My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Requital, 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 "Till the Day of the Time Appointed." 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.' 85 (Muhammad), say, "I do not ask any reward for my preaching to you for I am not a pretender. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
