Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
