Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
