In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
