Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet) not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart, and We made every living being out of water? Will they, then, not believe (that We created all this)? 30 And We set in the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with them, and We set in it ravines to serve as ways, that haply so they may be guided; 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe, and from the signs thereof they are averters. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 We have not granted everlasting life to any human being before you; then if you [Muhammad] should die, will they live forever? 34 Every soul shall taste death. We will try you with a trial of evil and good. Then, to Us you shall be returned. 35 And when those who disbelieve behold thee they only take thee up for mockery: is this he who mentioneth your gods? while in the mention of the compassionate they are themselves blasphemers. 36 Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. 37 And they say, “When will this promise occur, if you are truthful? 38 If only the unbelievers could apprehend the moment when they would neither be able to ward off the fire from their faces and their backs, nor help reach them! 39 Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved. 40 Other messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overwhelmed by the very thing they had mocked. 41
