Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
