۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
