Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Verily, the tree of Zaqqum, 43 Is the food of the sinful 44 like the dregs of oil, it shall boil in their bellies, 45 As the seething of boiling water. 46 Lay hold of him, and drag him unto the midst of the Flaming Fire. 47 Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water." 48 "Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour! 49 Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt. 50 But those mindful of God will be in a safe place, 51 Among Gardens and Springs; 52 clothed in fine silk and rich brocade, sitting face to face with one another. 53 So (it will be), and We shall marry them to Houris (female fair ones) with wide, lovely eyes. 54 They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure. 55 They will not taste death again in it, except their former death; and Allah has saved them from the punishment of fire. 56 as a bounty from your Lord. That will be the mighty triumph. 57 And We have made this Qur’an easy in your language, for them to understand. 58 So you wait. They are also waiting. 59

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
