The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
