Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
