The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
