(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
