The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
