The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
