Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the sun and its heat and brightness, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 And [by] the day when it displays it 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 and the earth and all its expanse! 6 And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness 9 And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 10 The Thamud tribe rejected the truth because of their arrogance, 11 when the most corrupt of them incited them (to commit evil). 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). 15

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
